What is the Editas?
Editas is a web based solution that allows fellow professionals to access and share knowledge via two main channels: a secure website with built-in knowledge base and an email tool that enables your network members to send queries direct to the entire network.
What does it offer?
Editas provides network members with a route to obtain advice quickly from their peers, wherever they are situated. Individuals who encounter a new problem typically have to spend a considerable amount of time researching appropriate solutions. However, it is likely that other members of the network have already dealt with the issue. editas provides a means to harness this experience and save valuable time.
How does it work?
If a member of your network has a problem, he or she summarises the issue and sends a message to the list. This request will be automatically delivered to everyone in the network. Other members may reply to requests either by sending a response back to the list (everyone) or privately, directly to the person who asked the question.
Responses can then be brought together into a single item and published in the searchable knowledge base. In this way the network builds a dynamic repository of solutions related specifically to the issues facing its members. Such solutions can be augmented by further material from 3rd party research.
In addition, the knowledge base provides a mechanism to publish standard documents for access by network members.
