Working with our partner company,
Northport Consulting, we are developing a web-based resource to support basic skills signposters in Wiltshire. Signposters are individuals who come into contact with people who have basic skills needs and are able to help them to identify ways to resolve these needs.
The BASIS service will be an online resource that will provide a database of appropriate basic skills training opportunities, as well as information on professional development opportunities for signposters, regardless of their normal work or voluntary role. In addition, the site will support a knowledge exchange facility, using our Information Resource Manager methodology, to help the network of signposters to share and capture knowledge about their role and thus reduce duplication of effort. This project is funded by ESF.
